It’s Time: Congress Should Enact Economic Stimulus for Billionaires

The ultra-wealthy deserve a break from Congress

As the economic crisis in America has continued to grow and worsen, while Congress has addressed the concerns of the poor and middle class through multiple rounds of stimulus, the vital needs of a select minority group continued to be ignored.

Despite the attention that has been paid to this issue, Senators and Representatives steadfastly have refused to pass economic stimulus for America’s billionaires.

Billionaires are the nation’s economic engine. They keep things going through their purchases of high-ticket luxury items, including yachts, art objects, precious jewels, and home theater systems. Despite the hard work they do for America, Congress has yet to reward them with stimulus.

If President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Schumer, and their Republican counterparts are really serious about restarting the economy, the next round of stimulus must prioritize the ultra-wealthy.

A good place to start would be the immediate passage of checks in the sum of $100,000 or more that would be sent via overnight mail to billionaires. Ideally the funds could be electronically transferred into either their domestic or offshore accounts.

With the stimulus in hand, billionaires will then be able to exhale and breathe a little easier. They could choose to use those funds on precious artwork, luxury pet items, or just to increase their personal savings.

But to help these unfortunate Americans, Congress has to be spurred into action. Ideally passage of these vital funds can be achieved with a special session of Congress, working through the night and weekends if necessary.

Nothing is more important than increasing the wealth of billionaires and a few hundred thousand dollars is an easily affordable expense for taxpayers.

  1. Hear, hear! What is America coming to when our billionaires might have to deny themselves that 8th estate or matching mega yachts for all their children? That’s not an America I want to live in!
